Indie Book Challenge

I just ran across a challenge I was in back in 2011. I couldn't find that they did another challenge for 2012 or 2013. A little bummed, but then I thought we could just do our own book challenge here. The guidelines of the challenge was to read 24 books within the year by 24 different Indie Authors. Here's the tough part: the first letter of the author's names must make up the alphabet. I know the year is half over, so it will be tough to complete, but if you guys are up to the challenge, I'll start compiling a list of suggested Indie authors. (Started below.  I will continue to add to the list when time permits.  Send me your suggestions!!!)

101 Tips for Traveling with a Vampire by Joleene Naylor

There aren’t a lot of resources for a human who’s running with the “undead”; No Facebook groups, no forums, not even a decent book of tips – until now. 101 Tips for Traveling with a Vampire is just that – 101 tips for everything from boat travel to the American classic Road trip. Sometimes funny, sometimes serious, these tips will prepare you for any travel that your vampire friend has in mind.

Want more fang for your buck? The revamped 101 Tips for Traveling with a Vampire features a special bonus “25 Tips for Dealing with a Vampire”

About the Author:  Joleene Naylor grew up in southwest Iowa surrounded by soybeans, corn and very little entertainment - so she made her own. She has been writing and drawing since she was a small child, with a particular leaning towards fantasy, horror and paranormal. It is this love of all that goes bump in the night that led her to write the Amaranthine series.
In her spare time she is a freelance artist, book cover designer and photographer. Her current projects include the fifth novel in the Amaranthine series, and The Terrible Turtle Conspiracy, a web manga collaboration with writer Jonathan Harvey. Joleene maintains blogs full of odd ramblings and hopes to win the lottery. Until she does, she and her husband live near Bolivar Missouri with their miniature zoo. However, unless she starts buying tickets she won't win anything.

Dawn's Review:  This wasn't quite what I was expecting although the title does say it all.  It really is a list of tips for traveling with a vampire, with a small intro into to the narrator and her undead friend.  That's all.  But I enjoyed it.  It was cute and funny.   There is a sneak peak into one of Joleene's other books which features the same characters.  It does look like an interesting read, and I think this book is a good kickstart into that series.  Check out Joleene's works here.
